Overview
These Booking Terms outline how our journeys operate, from enquiry through to departure. By confirming a booking with Three Tenths Travel, you agree to the terms set out below.
Booking Process
All bookings begin with an enquiry.
Once availability is confirmed, you will receive:
- A booking confirmation
- Payment details
- A summary of your selected journey
Your place on a journey is only secured once the required deposit has been received.
Deposits and Payment
A 20% deposit is required to secure your place on a journey.
- The deposit amount will be specified at the time of booking
- The 80% remaining balance is due 90 days prior to departure
- Full payment timelines will be clearly communicated upon confirmation
If payment is not received by the stated deadlines, we reserve the right to release your place.

Pricing
All prices are listed per person and are based on shared accommodation, unless otherwise stated.
Prices include only what is specified in the journey details.
Prices may be subject to change due to factors outside our control, including:
- Currency fluctuations
- Supplier changes
- Government taxes or fees
Any changes will be communicated transparently.
What’s Included
Each journey clearly outlines what is included.
Typically, this may include:
- Accommodation
- Selected meals
- Guided experiences and activities
- Local transport within the itinerary
What’s Not Included
Unless otherwise stated, journeys do not include:
- International flights
- Travel insurance
- Visas
- Personal expenses
- Optional activities
Group Size
Our journeys are intentionally small.
- Our journeys typically operate with a maximum of twelve travellers and often fewer.
- A minimum number of six travellers is required for each journey to operate
If minimum numbers are not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the journey. In this case, you will be offered:
- A full refund
or
- The option to transfer to another journey where available
Twin Sharing
Guests selecting the Twin Sharing option will be paired with another guest of the same sex wherever possible. Rooming arrangements are determined by Three Tenths Travel with the aim of creating the most comfortable pairing for all guests.
If a suitable roommate of the same sex cannot be found, the unmatched guest will be provided with a private room at no additional cost.
Health and Fitness Requirements
Our journeys may involve walking, uneven surfaces, stairs, changing weather conditions, and extended periods of activity.
Guests are responsible for ensuring they are physically capable of participating in their chosen journey.
Any medical condition that may affect participation should be disclosed prior to departure.
Documentation and Entry Requirements
Travellers are responsible for ensuring they have:
- Valid passports
- Required visas
- Any necessary health documentation
Travellers are responsible for ensuring their passport meets the validity requirements of all countries visited. Many destinations require passports to be valid for at least six months beyond the date of travel.
We are not responsible for denied entry or travel disruptions due to incorrect documentation.
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is required for all travellers.
Your policy should cover:
- Journey cancellation
- Medical expenses
- Personal belongings
- Travel disruption
Valid proof of travel insurance may be requested at any time prior to departure.
Changes by You
If you wish to make changes to your booking, we will do our best to accommodate them.
However:
- Changes are subject to availability
- Additional costs may apply
Changes by Us
We design each journey with care, but occasionally changes may be necessary.
We reserve the right to:
- Adjust itineraries
- Substitute accommodation or activities
- Make minor changes due to weather, local conditions, or operational needs
Any changes will be made with the intention of maintaining the integrity of the experience.
Force Majeure
Three Tenths Travel cannot be held responsible for delays, cancellations, itinerary changes, losses, or additional costs arising from events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, severe weather, political unrest, government restrictions, strikes, transportation disruptions, pandemics, or other unforeseen circumstances.
Emergency Assistance
In the event of illness, injury, or emergency during a journey, Three Tenths Travel may assist in arranging appropriate medical care or emergency services. Any associated costs remain the responsibility of the traveller and their insurer.
Traveller Responsibility
By joining a journey, you agree to:
- Follow local laws and customs
- Respect fellow travellers and group dynamics
- Ensure you are physically and mentally fit to participate
We reserve the right to remove any traveller whose behaviour negatively impacts the group experience. No refunds will be provided in such cases.
Assumption of Risk
Travel involves inherent risks that cannot be eliminated, including illness, injury, transport disruptions, weather events, political unrest, loss of property, and other unforeseen circumstances. By joining a journey, travellers acknowledge these risks and accept responsibility for their decision to participate.
Limitation of Liability
Three Tenths Travel acts as a curator and coordinator of journeys delivered by independent suppliers and local partners.
While we take care in selecting our partners, we are not liable for the acts, omissions, errors, delays, failures, injuries, losses, damages, or disruptions caused by third party providers or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Photography and Media
Photographs and video may be taken during our journeys and used for promotional purposes. Travellers who do not wish to appear in marketing materials will be provided the opportunity to decline their inclusion.
Governing Law
These Booking Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.

By confirming your booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Booking Terms.
