We understand that plans can change. This page outlines how cancellations are handled for both travellers and our journeys.

All cancellation requests must be made in writing via email and are only considered valid once received and acknowledged by us in writing.

This Cancellation and Refund Policy forms part of our Booking Terms and should be read together with those terms.

Please review our full Booking Terms before confirming your booking.

If you need to cancel your booking, the following terms apply:

  • All 20% deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable unless Three Tenths Travel cancels the journey

For remaining payments:

60 days or more before departure

  • Remaining 80% balance refundable, excluding the 20% deposit
  • 50% of total journey cost is non refundable
  • 100% of total journey cost is non refundable

These timelines are based on the journey start date.

If you are unable to travel, you may request to transfer your booking to another person. Transfers must be requested in writing.

  • Transfers are subject to approval
  • The replacement traveller must meet all journey requirements
  • Any additional costs incurred will be your responsibility

We reserve the right to cancel a journey in certain circumstances, including:

  • Minimum group size not being met
  • Unforeseen operational issues
  • Events outside our control

If we cancel a journey, you will be offered:

  • A full refund, including your 20% deposit
  • The option to transfer to another journey where available

Three Tenths Travel is not responsible for any non-refundable expenses incurred by the traveller, including flights, visas, insurance policies, accommodation, or other independently arranged services.

If you request changes to your booking:

  • We will do our best to accommodate them
  • Changes are subject to availability
  • Additional costs may apply

We may make minor adjustments to itineraries due to:

  • Weather conditions
  • Local factors
  • Operational requirements

These changes are made with the intention of preserving the overall experience and do not qualify for refunds.

Three Tenths Travel cannot be held responsible for cancellations, delays, itinerary changes, losses, or additional costs arising from events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, severe weather, political unrest, government restrictions, strikes, transportation disruptions, pandemics, or other unforeseen circumstances.

In such circumstances, refunds will be subject to the recovery of funds from suppliers and partners.

Comprehensive travel insurance is required.

Your policy should cover:

  • Journey cancellation
  • Medical expenses
  • Travel delays
  • Personal belongings

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of booking.

Failure to join a journey or missing any part of it will be treated as a cancellation.

No refunds will be provided.

Any applicable refunds will be calculated in accordance with this Cancellation and Refund Policy and our Booking Terms.

Where refunds are applicable:

  • They will be processed using the original payment method where possible
  • Processing times may vary depending on your payment provider
