Jordan is a land of striking contrasts, where ancient civilisations, dramatic desert landscapes and the tranquil waters of the Red Sea come together in one unforgettable journey. From remarkably preserved Roman cities and biblical landscapes to Bedouin traditions and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, each destination reveals a different side of this remarkable country.

Our journey begins in Amman, where neighbourhood cafés, lively streets and local traditions provide an authentic introduction to modern Jordan before the remarkably preserved Roman city of Jerash reveals a civilisation that has stood for almost two thousand years.

From here, the pace slows at the Dead Sea, where mineral-rich waters, dramatic desert landscapes and time to simply unwind create a complete contrast before we continue south to Petra. Hidden within towering sandstone cliffs, the Lost City reveals one of the ancient world's greatest achievements, explored first beneath candlelight and then again as the morning sun illuminates its remarkable façades.

Wadi Rum brings another change of scenery. Vast sandstone mountains, Bedouin hospitality and unforgettable desert skies invite us to experience one of Jordan's most spectacular landscapes before the crystal-clear waters of Aqaba and the Red Sea provide the perfect finale to our journey.

Designed around spring, this itinerary explores Jordan at one of the country's most comfortable times of year. From the vibrant streets of Amman and the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea to the ancient city of Petra, the vast desert of Wadi Rum and the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea, each destination reveals a different side of Jordan's remarkable landscapes, ancient history and rich culture.

As with all seasonal travel, timings and the order of activities may occasionally change to reflect local conditions and ensure every experience takes place at the best possible time.

Arrival and departure days

• Airport transfers are included for all guests arriving on Day 1 and departing on the final day of the journey
• Arrival day is intentionally designed with flexibility in mind, allowing time to settle into the hotel, explore the surrounding neighbourhood, or simply pause before the journey begins
• Our first shared experience takes place around midday on Day 1, allowing guests arriving earlier in the day time to comfortably transfer from the airport and settle in before meeting the group
• Hotel check in is typically available from 3pm onwards. Guests arriving earlier may store luggage with the hotel prior to check in
• Your tour host will be waiting to welcome you at the hotel on arrival day, offering assistance with check in and luggage storage where needed, along with recommendations for exploring the surrounding neighbourhood before the journey begins
• On departure day, no activities are planned beyond breakfast, allowing flexibility for onward travel arrangements
• We recommend booking outbound flights departing from midday onwards on the final day to allow comfortable transfer time to the airport

Seasonal weather

• Late May typically brings warm, sunny weather throughout Jordan, with daytime temperatures generally ranging between 24°C and 34°C / 75°F to 93°F, depending on the region and elevation
• Evenings in Amman, Petra, and Wadi Rum can be pleasantly cooler, making a light jacket useful after sunset
• The Dead Sea and Aqaba are usually warmer than northern Jordan, offering ideal conditions for swimming and water based experiences
• Rainfall is uncommon during this period, although occasional brief showers remain possible

Visa requirements

• Visa and entry requirements vary depending on your nationality, passport, and country of residence
• Guests are responsible for ensuring they meet all passport, transit, vaccination, and entry requirements for Jordan
• Your passport should generally have at least 6 months validity remaining from your date of arrival, have sufficient pages for entry and exit stamps, and generally be in good condition (unless otherwise stated by local authorities)
• Once your booking is confirmed, Three Tenths Travel will arrange your Jordan Expert Pass prior to arrival which includes your tourist e-visa
• Additional entry requirements may apply depending on your nationality, and we will advise where relevant

Practical considerations

• This departure coincides with national celebrations including Jordan's Independence Day and, depending on the lunar calendar, may also overlap with Eid al Adha, offering a unique opportunity to experience Jordan during an important cultural period.  As with many national holidays, some opening hours and traffic conditions may vary slightly during this time
• Comfortable walking shoes are recommended, particularly for Petra, Jerash, and Wadi Rum
• Some experiences take place in warm desert environments where sun protection, a hat, and a reusable water bottle are recommended
• Swimwear is required for the Dead Sea, Ma'in Hot Springs, snorkelling, and diving experiences
• The itinerary has been designed to balance active exploration with opportunities to relax, recharge, and fully appreciate Jordan's diverse landscapes
• A moderate level of mobility is recommended due to uneven terrain, archaeological sites, and natural walking trails
• Spring can occasionally bring brief periods of wind, dust, or reduced visibility, particularly in desert regions. While these conditions are usually short lived, the itinerary may be adjusted where necessary to ensure the safest and most enjoyable experience
• Guests who are sensitive to dust or who have respiratory conditions may wish to bring a lightweight face covering as a precaution
