For a few short weeks each September, Champagne comes alive with the excitement of the annual vendange. It is one of the most important moments in the Champagne calendar, and one that few travellers ever experience first-hand.
Our journey begins in Paris, where grand landmarks, exceptional gastronomy and timeless French elegance provide the perfect introduction before we continue into the heart of Champagne. Here, world-renowned maisons, family-run producers, historic villages and centuries-old cellars reveal a region where every bottle tells a story shaped by craftsmanship, patience and tradition.
From harvesting grapes alongside local producers to mastering the art of sabrage, creating your own personalised bottle of Champagne and discovering the remarkable diversity of the region through tastings and food pairings, each experience offers a deeper appreciation of Champagne beyond the glass. The neighbourhoods of Paris offer the perfect introduction to France. Bustling markets, artisan bakeries, traditional fromageries and neighbourhood wine merchants offer our first taste of the flavours that have shaped French cuisine for generations. Each stop celebrates a different part of the country's rich culinary heritage, from exceptional cheeses and artisan charcuterie to time-honoured recipes that remain central to everyday life. It's a fitting first taste of the gastronomy that defines France.
As darkness falls, we'll climb aboard electric tuk tuks to discover illuminated Paris. Passing many of the city's most iconic landmarks, from the Champs-Élysées and Arc de Triomphe to the Louvre and Notre-Dame, we'll experience the French capital at its most enchanting before arriving at the Eiffel Tower.
The evening culminates at the top of the Eiffel Tower, where our welcome dinner awaits with spectacular views across Paris. Looking out across the lights of the city while enjoying exceptional French cuisine, we'll raise a glass to the beginning of our journey through one of the world's great food and wine regions.

From the bakery, we make our way to the Palace of Versailles, where lavish royal apartments, opulent interiors, mirrored halls and beautifully landscaped gardens reflect the ambition of Louis XIV's royal court. A picnic lunch in the gardens provides time to admire one of France's finest formal landscapes before exploring more of the estate at our own pace.
Back in Paris, Notre-Dame takes on a different character after dark. Beautifully illuminated against the evening sky, there's time to admire the cathedral and appreciate one of France's finest examples of Gothic architecture in a quieter, more atmospheric setting.

At the Abbey of Saint Pierre, where he is buried, we learn about the legacy of a man whose influence continues to define the region.

From Aÿ, we continue to nearby Épernay, where Avenue de Champagne is lined with some of the world's most prestigious Champagne houses. Beneath the elegant mansions, more than 200 million bottles quietly mature within kilometers of historic chalk cellars, making this one of the region's most remarkable streets. As we stroll with our guide, stories of the great Champagne houses, elegant architecture and centuries of winemaking traditions reveal how this quiet avenue became synonymous with celebration around the world.
Our afternoon is spent at Moët & Chandon, where we'll step behind the doors of the world's largest Champagne house and home of the prestigious Dom Pérignon. A guided visit through the historic cellars reveals the craftsmanship, innovation and traditions that have shaped one of the region's most recognised names before concluding, naturally, with a tasting.
Dinner is enjoyed in Épernay before we return to our countryside estate, reflecting on a day spent discovering the landscapes, people and traditions behind every glass of Champagne.

A leisurely vineyard picnic awaits, celebrating the morning's harvest. Fresh bread, regional cheeses, pâtés and seasonal produce are shared alongside Champagne poured just meters from the very vines we've spent the morning harvesting. Return for another helping of your favourite cheese, pour another glass of Champagne, find a shady spot or simply enjoy the conversation. This is one of those wonderfully simple moments that reminds us the French have long understood that some meals are meant to be savoured rather than finished.
The remainder of the afternoon is yours to enjoy. This afternoon, we bring together everything we've experienced throughout the week during a food and Champagne pairing experience. Guided by local experts, we'll explore how sweetness, texture, acidity and aroma interact, discovering why the right Champagne can transform everything from a beautifully matured cheese to the finest chocolate into an entirely new tasting experience.

We step into another great French tradition this afternoon. Guided by a perfume expert, we'll learn how top, heart and base notes come together before blending our own fragrance from a collection of ninety individual essences. We leave with a personalised 50ml bottle and a deeper appreciation for the artistry of French perfume.
As evening falls, we board a bistronomic dinner cruise along the Seine. Departing beneath the Eiffel Tower, we glide past the Grand Palais, Musée d'Orsay, the Louvre and Notre-Dame as the city begins to glow beneath the evening sky. Over dinner, there's time to reflect on the experiences we've shared as Paris provides a memorable setting for our final evening together.

Arrival and departure days

- Our first shared experience takes place around midday on Day 1, allowing guests arriving earlier in the day time to comfortably transfer from the airport and settle in before meeting the group
- Hotel check in is typically available from 3pm onwards. Guests arriving earlier may store luggage with the hotel prior to check in
- Your tour host will be waiting to welcome you at the hotel on arrival day, offering assistance with check in and luggage storage where needed, along with recommendations for exploring the surrounding neighbourhood before the journey begins
- On departure day, no activities are planned beyond breakfast, allowing flexibility for onward travel arrangements
