Our journey begins in Oslo before travelling far beyond the Arctic Circle to Tromsø and Alta, two of Norway's most celebrated winter destinations.

From floating silently beneath Arctic skies to gliding through snow covered forests behind teams of eager huskies, this itinerary has been carefully designed to maximise opportunities to witness the Northern Lights while embracing the full Arctic experience.
One night is spent within the extraordinary Sorrisniva Ice Hotel, a world sculpted entirely from snow and ice, before returning south for a final celebration on the Oslo Fjord.

Gathering around food has long been part of Norwegian winter life, bringing warmth and connection during the darkest months of the year. Along the way

Accompanied by local hosts, we gather around an open fire where a traditional bonfire lunch of local ingredients, fresh bread, smoked meats, and warm drinks introduces one of Norway's oldest outdoor traditions.
There is time to experience the forest at your own pace. Those who wish can try traditional ice fishing, a practice that has sustained communities through long winters for generations, while others may wander through the woodland or pause beside the frozen lake to enjoy the stillness of the landscape.
Back in Oslo, the late afternoon is yours to explore Oslo before we reunite for dinner. Tomorrow the journey continues north, where Norway's winter landscapes become even more dramatic.

This afternoon takes us beyond the city into the snowy landscapes of northern Norway, where Sami hosts introduce us to traditions that have been passed from one generation to the next. Travelling by reindeer sled through the forest offers a glimpse into a way of life closely connected to the changing seasons before we step inside a traditional lavvu tent for a hearty Sami dinner.
Returning to Tromsø beneath the Arctic sky, there is another opportunity to witness the Northern Lights should conditions be favourable.

Moving between comforting warmth and invigorating cold, those who wish can take the exhilarating plunge into icy water before returning to the heat, discovering a ritual that has been embraced across the Nordic countries for generations.
The afternoon is free to independently explore Tromsø and enjoy its seasonal Christmas stalls before we return to the water after dark for a very different Arctic experience. Dressed in specially designed thermal suits, we float peacefully in the fjord beneath the open sky, surrounded by mountains and winter silence. Should the Northern Lights appear, there is no better place to watch them than from the still waters of the Arctic.
Fresh waffles and hot chocolate provide a warm finish to the evening before we return to Tromsø.

After meeting the dogs and learning about their training and care, we set off on a guided sled ride through snow covered forests and open winter landscapes, experiencing a mode of transport that has connected people with the Arctic for generations.
Back at camp, a traditional Arctic lunch beside the fire provides time to reflect on the morning before the afternoon is free to spend as you wish.
This evening we travel to the island of Sommarøy, where fishing villages, rugged coastline, and snow covered peaks create a spectacular setting overlooking the Arctic Ocean. Our farewell dinner celebrates the experiences we've shared in northern Norway, with one final opportunity to witness the Northern Lights should conditions allow.

Away from the glow of the town, Alta offers another excellent opportunity to witness the Northern Lights should conditions be favourable, bringing a memorable close to our first day in this new corner of Arctic Norway.

Our accommodation
- Our accommodation throughout the journey has been carefully selected to reflect both comfort and a deep sense of place, balancing refined city stays in Oslo with more immersive Arctic experiences further north
- In Tromsø and Alta, properties are chosen for their warmth, atmosphere, and proximity to the landscapes and winter experiences explored throughout the journey
- One night is spent at the extraordinary Sorrisniva Ice Hotel. Due to the unique nature of the accommodation, private room upgrades are not available for this evening and solo travellers will be paired with another guest of the same gender. Family style ice rooms are shared by two travellers and feature insulated mattresses and reindeer hides for warmth. Bathroom and changing facilities are located in the main building
- All other stays nights are in private en suite rooms, providing comfort and space to rest throughout the journey
Arrival and departure days
- Airport transfers are included for all guests arriving on Day 1 and departing on the final day of the journey
- Arrival day is intentionally designed with flexibility in mind, allowing time to settle into the hotel, explore the surrounding neighbourhood, or simply pause before the journey begins
- Our first shared experience takes place in the late afternoon on Day 1, allowing guests arriving earlier in the day time to comfortably transfer from the airport and settle in before meeting the group
- Hotel check in is typically available from 3:00pm onwards. Guests arriving earlier may store luggage with the hotel prior to check in
- Your tour host will be waiting to welcome you at the hotel on arrival day, offering assistance with check in and luggage storage where needed, along with recommendations for exploring the surrounding neighbourhood before the journey begins
- On departure day, no activities are planned beyond breakfast, allowing flexibility for onward travel arrangements
- We recommend booking outbound flights departing from midday onwards on the final day to allow comfortable transfer time to the airport
