As the days progress, the pace naturally shifts between exploration and moments of stillness. Time is allowed to fully experience Jordan's iconic landmarks, while quieter moments beside the Dead Sea, beneath the desert stars, and along the Red Sea coastline provide space to pause, reflect, and appreciate this beautiful country as we continue through it.

First Impressions | A Warm Welcome

Highlights
Arabic coffee experience • Panoramic introduction to Amman • Local food tastings • Rainbow Street • Welcome dinner
Along the way
Amman unfolds neighbourhood by neighbourhood as we take in the city's distinctive hillsides before exploring them at street level. It's an easy introduction to Jordan, revealing everyday cafés, local businesses and the places that shape daily life beyond the city's famous landmarks.
We'll pause for freshly prepared Arabic coffee and sample local favourites including falafel, warm khubz, fresh juices and sweet knafeh, discovering how food and hospitality are woven into everyday life in Jordan.
As evening falls, Rainbow Street comes alive with cafés, rooftop terraces and locals enjoying the cooler evening air before we gather for our Welcome Dinner.
Behind the design
Arrival days are designed to land softly. Guests often arrive at different times after long international journeys, so rather than launching straight into sightseeing, our Three Tenths Signature Welcome brings everyone together through local food in a relaxed and informal setting. It creates natural conversation, allowing strangers to become travelling companions before the journey truly begins. Sharing Jordanian food while exploring the everyday life of Amman offers a welcoming introduction before our journey through the country's extraordinary landscapes begins.

Guided exploration of Jerash • Free afternoon in Amman • Traditional Jordanian hammam
Along the way
Jerash reveals one of the world's best preserved Roman cities. With our local guide, we explore ancient temples, theatres, public squares and colonnaded streets that once formed one of the Roman Empire's great provincial cities.
Returning to Amman, the afternoon is yours to enjoy. Relax at the hotel, explore the surrounding neighbourhood or simply take in the atmosphere before we meet again this evening.
A traditional Jordanian hammam offers a well earned opportunity to relax, drawing on centuries old bathing rituals that have long formed part of life across the Middle East. Feeling refreshed, we end the day together over dinner, bringing another memorable day in Jordan to a close.
Behind the design
Rather than trying to visit every historical site in northern Jordan, we've chosen to focus on Jerash and balance it with a slower afternoon back in Amman. It creates time to explore the capital your own way before we leave for the Dead Sea tomorrow, while avoiding the feeling of rushing from one archaeological site to the next.
Inclusions
Breakfast • Guided exploration of Jerash • Traditional hammam experience • Dinner • Accommodation in Amman
Day 03 | Dead Sea

Where the Earth Falls Away | Salt, Silence and Stillness

Welcome drinks followed by dinner bring our first evening on the shores of the Dead Sea to a close, leaving time to savour this extraordinary setting.
Behind the design
Rather than treating the Dead Sea as a brief photo stop, we've chosen to spend two nights here so there's time to experience it at a more relaxed pace. It creates a natural break in the journey south, allowing us to enjoy the resort before continuing to Petra and Wadi Rum.
Inclusions
Breakfast • Mount Nebo visit • Dead Sea resort access • Lunch • Floating experience • Spa access • Dinner • Accommodation at the Dead Sea

Relax beneath the waterfalls or simply enjoy the remarkable setting before we continue to the striking Pink Lake, where changing light and salt rich waters create one of the region's most unusual landscapes.
Returning to the resort, the afternoon remains yours to enjoy before we gather for dinner, ending another unhurried day beside the Dead Sea.
Behind the design
This extra day isn't simply about spending longer at the Dead Sea. It's about giving Ma'in Hot Springs and the Pink Lake the time they deserve, allowing each experience to be enjoyed properly before we continue to Petra tomorrow.

First Glimpse | Into the Lost City

Highlights
Journey through southern Jordan • Little Petra • Bedouin camp stay • Petra by Night
Along the way
Travelling through southern Jordan's most iconic landscapes, we pause at Little Petra before arriving at our Bedouin camp. Once welcoming traders travelling across the Arabian Peninsula, its carved passageways and quiet courtyards offer a fascinating introduction to the Nabataean civilisation we'll explore in greater depth tomorrow.
By late afternoon we arrive at our Bedouin camp, tucked beneath the sandstone cliffs. Take time to settle in, enjoy the peaceful surroundings or relax with a cup of tea before dinner.
After nightfall, we experience Petra by Night. Lit by thousands of candles, the narrow Siq leads us to the Treasury in near silence, offering an unforgettable first glimpse of the Lost City.
Behind the design
Our stay in Little Petra is about far more than convenience. The Bedouin camp is one of Jordan's most memorable places to stay, offering an experience that's every bit as special as the destination itself.
Most visitors experience Petra for the first time during the busiest part of the day. By introducing the Lost City beneath candlelight, Petra by Night creates an unforgettable first impression before tomorrow reveals the same landscape in an entirely different way.
Inclusions
Breakfast • Transport to Little Petra • Lunch • Visit to Little Petra • Dinner • Petra by Night experience • Bedouin Camp stay in Little Petra

Petra at sunrise • Guided exploration of Petra • Picnic breakfast • Ad Deir (The Monastery) • Picnic lunch • Time to explore at your own pace
Along the way
Today belongs entirely to Petra. Returning in the early morning before the crowds arrive, we walk through the Siq as the city slowly awakens. Soft morning light reveals the colours and textures hidden by yesterday's candlelight, creating an entirely different experience.
With our local guide, we explore one of the world's greatest archaeological treasures at an unhurried pace. Hidden from the Western world until 1812, Petra reveals temples, royal tombs, ancient streets and remarkable engineering that transformed this desert valley into the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom.
Later, we enjoy a picnic breakfast and lunch within the archaeological park before climbing to Ad Deir, the Monastery, whose spectacular setting provides one of Petra's most rewarding viewpoints. The afternoon allows time to revisit favourite corners or simply pause and absorb this extraordinary place.
Behind the design
Petra deserves more than a hurried visit. By dedicating an entire day to the archaeological park, there's time to explore beyond the Treasury, discover its lesser known corners and experience the scale of the ancient Nabataean city without feeling rushed.

Breakfast picnic • Entry to Petra • Guided exploration of Petra • Picnic lunch • Visit to Ad Deir (The Monastery) • Dinner • Accommodation in Bedouin Camp in Little Petra

The Silence of the Desert | An Evening Under the Stars

Highlights
Journey to Wadi Rum • Desert sunset • Traditional Bedouin dinner • Stargazing • Luxury desert dome stay
Along the way
The sandstone landscapes of Petra gradually give way to the vast open desert of Wadi Rum. With towering rock formations rising from the red sand in every direction, its extraordinary scenery has stood in for Mars in numerous films, giving the desert an unmistakably otherworldly character.
Our luxury desert camp places you in the heart of Wadi Rum, where there's time to settle into your dome accommodation and enjoy the remarkable surroundings before the desert begins its evening transformation.
As afternoon fades, changing light washes the sandstone cliffs in shades of amber, gold and deep red. After sunset, we travel deeper into the desert for a traditional Bedouin dinner, where the centuries old zarb cooking method transforms an evening meal into an experience in itself.
Later, we continue away from the lights to one of Wadi Rum's best stargazing locations, where the silence of the desert and an endless canopy of stars provide a memorable end to the day before returning to camp for the night.
Behind the design
We chose these luxury desert domes because they feel completely at home in the landscape. Their distinctive design enhance the illusion of Wadi Rum's otherworldly scenery, creating one of the most memorable accommodation experiences of the journey.

Jordan is widely regarded as one of the safest and most welcoming destinations in the Middle East, with a long established tourism industry and a reputation for genuine hospitality.
As with any destination, we encourage normal travel awareness, but throughout the journey you will be accompanied by your Three Tenths Tour Director and trusted local guides. We continuously monitor local conditions and would never operate a journey where we believe guest safety could be compromised.
This journey is designed for travellers with a moderate level of mobility.
Several days involve walking on uneven ground, stone pathways, desert sand, and archaeological sites, particularly in Petra and Wadi Rum. There is plenty of time to explore at a comfortable pace, with regular opportunities to rest, enjoy the scenery, and take photographs.
You do not need to be an experienced hiker, but you should feel comfortable walking for several hours across varied terrain.
Not at all.
Every included experience is yours to enjoy, but you are never expected to do everything. Whether you choose to relax beside the Dead Sea, spend longer exploring Petra, enjoy the facilities at our Bedouin camp, or simply take time to absorb your surroundings, the journey is designed to offer flexibility without compromising the shared experience.
Many itineraries treat Wadi Rum as a quick overnight stop. We believe it deserves much more.
Spending two nights allows us to experience both the peaceful rhythm of the desert and its adventurous side. It also gives us time to enjoy sunrise, sunset, traditional Bedouin hospitality, stargazing, and a full day of optional included desert activities without feeling rushed. It is one of the defining experiences of the journey.
Your Three Tenths journey includes the Jordan Expert Pass, the most comprehensive Jordan Pass available.
This includes your tourist e-visa and entry to Petra over three consecutive days. While our itinerary explores Petra over two days, the additional flexibility reflects our philosophy that extraordinary places should never be rushed, allowing us the freedom to adapt the experience should conditions or the pace of the journey call for it.
