A Founder’s Perspective
Travel has shaped my life in ways I never expected.
Across five decades of travel I’ve lived extensively in six countries and explored more than fifty others. Much of that journey was shaped by time spent sailing, and by a chapter working as a scuba diving instructor abroad.
Eventually life brought me back to South Africa and into the corporate world, where I spent more than a decade building a career.
Then a moment at work made me pause and reconsider the direction my life was taking. It was a reminder that time moves quickly, and that the experiences we postpone too easily become the ones we never have.
Three Tenths Travel was born from that moment.
Not as a traditional travel company, but as a way to design journeys around the rare moments when places truly come alive – cultural events, seasonal rituals, and natural phenomena that happen only once each year.
Because the most meaningful travel often comes down to timing.
